Ghani Appoints Two Acting Ministers

The presidential palace (ARG) said in a statement on Thursday that President Ashraf Ghani issued a decree announcing the appointment of Nasir Ahmad Durani as the acting minister of agriculture, irrigation and livestock replacing the incumbent minister Assadullah Zamir. 
 
“In line with paragraph 11 of article 64 of the constitution, the appointment of Mr. Nasir Ahmad Durani is approved as the minister of agriculture and irrigation of the Islamic republic of Afghanistan,” a press release issued from the presidential palace said on Thursday. 
 
“The minister of parliamentary affairs is assigned to introduce the candidate by respecting paragraph 3 of article 91 of the constitution for a vote of confidence to the Wolesi Jirga (Lower House of Parliament),” the statement reads. 
 
Reasons for the move have not been disclosed and Zamir's fate is unclear. 

 
In addition ARG also confirmed the appointment of Mujiburrahman Karimi as the acting minister of The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD).

“In line with paragraph 11 of article 64 of the constitution, the appointment of Mr. Nasir Ahmad Durani is approved as the minister of agriculture and irrigation of the Islamic republic of Afghanistan,” a press release issued from the presidential palace said on Thursday.
