Eftikhar Mohmand a member of the Nangarhar provincial council was wounded in a roadside mine blast early Tuesday, local officials confirmed.
The incident took place in Kama district after Mohammad’s vehicle hit a roadside mine, a spokesman for the provincial governor, Attaullah Khoghyani said.
“One of his bodyguards was killed in the blast and another was wounded,” Khoghyani said.
However, he did not provide further details about the blast.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
