One Coalition Service Member Killed In Kabul

A Coalition service member died on Wednesday due to wounds he sustained after an explosive device hit their vehicle in Kabul earlier in the day, the Resolute Support Mission said in a statement.

The statement said that due to NATO policy, RS does not disclose further details about the Coalition member.

The Ministry of Defense of Croatia meanwhile said the explosion targeted Croatian soldiers in Kabul in which three soldiers have been injured of whom one soldier has sustained life-threatening injuries.

“Unfortunately, the attack on Croatian soldiers in Kabul, Afghanistan, occurred early in the morning. According to the latest information, we have three injured soldiers, one of whom has severe head injuries and life-threatening. The other three suffer harder injuries,” the Croatian Defense Minister Damir Krstičević said in a statement.

He said the other two soldiers had injuries of their arms and legs and that was easier.

The attack happened in the east of Kabul and according to eyewitnesses, the attacker was a suicide bomber riding a motorbike. 

Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
