Customs Revenue Increases in Nangarhar: Ministry

The Ministry of Finance said the country's revenue from customs has increased.

According to the ministry, revenue from customs in Nangarhar province has increased by 80 percent from last year, and in the past 10 months they have collected 10 million Afghani.

“Corruption in the Finance Ministry has decreased to zero and, as we announced before, every department that wants to make a report about corruption can come to our ministry and evaluate it,” said Ahmad Wali Haqmal, spokesman for the Finance Ministry.

The Chamber of Mines and the Chamber of Commerce and Investment called on the government to provide more facilities for traders in customs.

“We demand more facilities in customs in the field of fighting corruption, and processing work,” said Mohammad Karim Azimi, CEO of the Chamber of Mines.

“The Finance Ministry said that their revenue has increased and I think that the reason for this increase is that transportation challenges have decreased in Torkham port,” said Zulmai Azimi, a member of the ACIM.

According to the information from this ministry, nearly 20 customs areas are active all over the country.
