Poetry Program in Nangarhar Supports Palestine

A poetry program titled "We Have Not Forgotten the People of Gaza" aimed at supporting the people of Gaza, has been launched in the city of Jalalabad, Nangarhar province.

This program, initiated by the Nangarhar Department of Information and Culture to empathize and share the grief with the people of Palestine, saw the participation of a number of poets, cultural figures, and writers.

Sajid Khogyani, the head of Nangarhar's Information and Culture, said: "In sympathy and to share the grief with the oppressed people of Palestine, we have dedicated this poetry night to them. Poets from the east and various provinces have gathered here and express their solidarity with the people of Palestine through poetry."

Some poets in the program, in addition to expressing sympathy with the people of Gaza through poetry, condemned the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people.

Ziauddin Hemat, a poet, said: "Karbala is reenacted there, where they are bombarded; children, elders, and women are killed. From the heart of every poet here flows blood."

Abdul Hadi Farhang, a poet, said: "A poet must be the poet of all humanity, and we have gathered here in solidarity with the name of humanity and to share the grief with the martyrs of Gaza."

This poetry event in support of the people of Gaza was launched in Nangarhar province at a time when people in some other provinces of the country had also demonstrated against the Israeli attacks on Gaza.
