Exhibit of Domestic Products Held in Kabul

The Union of Industry and Commerce on Wednesday organized a ten-day exhibition of domestic products under the name of “Arzan Bazaar” (cheap bazaar) in Kabul.

The purpose of holding this exhibition, according to the organizers, is to sell products to residents at a cheaper price than other marketplaces.

"The main purpose of organizing this exhibition is to be able to have products that represent our culture and are among the values of our country from different provinces and to export them," said Nisar Ahmad Behbodi, the organizer of the exhibition.

"On behalf of the Kabul Municipality leadership, we announce our support for such programs and we ask the businessmen to refer to the relevant department to address the needs of the people," said Wali Gul, head of the cultural department of Kabul Municipality.

Some women participated in this exhibition, along with male traders.

"If the government supports us, a significant change will happen in society; for instance, women who are at home can work alongside us," said Samera, a businesswoman.

Several Kabul residents believe that organizing such exhibitions will enhance people's buying power.

"People don't have money. There should be such markets in the country to offer products at a lower price,” said Sayed Ahmad Shah, a resident of Kabul.

More than 250 companies displayed their products at the exhibition.
