The head of United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), Tadamichi Yamamoto said last week it is very easy to be skeptical about the elections, but what is important is that the Afghan people want their votes to be counted and respected. 

He called on Afghan political parties to support the election process as it constitutes one of the fundamental aspirations of the people of Afghanistan.
