Ministry Says It Will Pay Compensation to Disabled, Other Eligible People

The Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled announced the payment of compensation to the disabled, orphans, and widows this year.

Faisal Khamosh, the spokesman for the ministry, said the current government will pay the salaries of six months of year 1402 to the disabled, orphans, and widows.

“For the disabled, orphans, and widows, the distribution of salaries for the six months of the 1402 year has been started across the country and each of them will be paid their salaries in turn,” the spokesman said.

According to the ministry spokesperson, to clarify the process of the distribution of funds to the disabled, databases have been created in 18 provinces, including the capital, and more than three thousand people who were not eligible for this process have been removed from the databases.

“So far, the database system has been activated in 18 provinces including Kabul, Jawzjan, Ghazni, Laghman, Nangarhar, Herat, Balkh, and other provinces.

The database system will provide transparency in the distribution of salaries to the disabled, orphans, and widows,” said Faisal Khamosh.

Meanwhile, some disabled people emphasized the need for transparency and the acceleration of the process.

“I ask the Islamic Emirate to pay the compensation to the disabled, orphans, and widows soon, and transparency should be paid in this regard,” said Mohammad Rustam, a resident of Kabul.

"Two of my children have been martyred, and I am taking care of these widows, and I am facing many problems. I ask the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled to pay their salaries soon,” said Merza Mohammad, a Kabul resident.

The Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled pledged that the rights of all disabled, orphans, and widows will be paid transparently and there will be no discrimination in the process.
