Kabul Municipality: 165 Projects to Be Implemented in 1403

The Kabul Municipality has stated that it will implement 165 projects worth 6.4 billion Afghanis in the current solar year in the capital.

These projects include the reconstruction and development of roads, construction of canals, and creation of green spaces.

Nematullah Barakzai, a representative of the Kabul Municipality, stated that the work on the reconstruction and development of several roads in the capital has begun, saying: "For the solar year of 1403, the Kabul Municipality has considered about 165 projects in various sectors, ranging from road construction to the section of canal construction and other areas, on which 6.4 billion Afghanis will be spent, paid from the Kabul Municipality's own revenues."

The second part of Kotel Road, which is currently under construction, the Qasaba to Charahi Shahid Road, Badam Bagh Road, Qala-e-Shanan to Qala-e-Zaman Khan Road, the expansion of the Dehmazang to Kote Sangi Road, Dogh Abad - Gul Bagh Road, and the Charahi Maidan to Gumruk Road are among the roads whose reconstruction and development are expected to be completed by the end of 1403 solar year.

Residents of the capital welcome the reconstruction and development of roads in Kabul; however, some shopkeepers whose shops have been demolished due to road development are demanding the creation of a suitable location.

Noor Rahman, a resident of Kabul, told TOLOnews: "The construction of these roads, if it does not eliminate congestion, will at least reduce it."

Mohammad, one of the shopkeepers in Kabul, said: "Our demand is that a new commercial center be established in this area to provide job opportunities for the people. Right now, shopkeepers whose shops have been demolished in this area have stored their goods in warehouses and are unemployed."

The Kabul Municipality had also previously announced the commencement of work on six major road construction projects worth close to one billion Afghanis in Kabul.
