A number of political figures have formed a new council called the National Consensus and Change Council and called for the formation of an interim government. 

Members of this political council say they do not believe a transparent election will be held and are convinced that the only way to build an inclusive government is to establish an  interim government based on national consensus. 

However, the Presidential Palace said the National Unity Government (NUG) will continue until the end of its tenure based on the constitution.
