As Muslims around the world prepare for Eid al-Adha, people in Afghanistan are eagerly hoping for another ceasefire between the Afghan government and the Taliban.

Some government officials have also expressed optimism that a second ceasefire could be announced.

Independent Election Commission (IEC) members on Wednesday said the absence of a budget and insecurity are the main challenges they face ahead of planned presidential elections next year.

This comes after they officially announced April 20 next year as Presidential Election Day.
