Kabul Hosts Third Round Of ‘Fight Night’

The third round of this season’s mixed martial arts (MMA) tournament was held in Kabul on Friday evening with fighters from Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan taking part. 
 
In the first match of Friday’s tournament Asmatullah Adel won his match with a knockout against Abdul Basir Afghan after four minutes of the second round. 
 
“The level of the competitions was very high, and I'm very happy to win this game,” said Adel. 
 
In the second match Hussain Bakhsh Safari beat his Iranian rival Murtaza Hussaini in the first round of the match. 
 
“I am very glad that hundreds of thousands of people sitting behind their televisions and without any discrimination prayed for my victory and this is a big pride for me,” said Safari. 
 
In the third match Wahed Najand defeated his Iranian rival Wahid Ashori with a knockout. 
 
“I urged young people to play sport and to show the different faces of Afghanistan to the world and serve the country through this field,” said Najand. 
 
In the last match of the competition Ardeshir Morad Aliov of Tajikistan beat his Afghan rival Faramarz Mohammad in points in score after three rounds.
 
“I am very happy that I won the match, I've done intensive exercises in Thailand and Dushanbe and I'm happy to win,” Aliov said.
 
The competition was organized by MOBY Group in association with the Snow Leopard Fighting Championship (SLFC) to promote mixed martial arts and introduce the sport to the people. 
 
The competition will be held once in every two months. 
 
The event aired on TOLO and LEMAR TV channels at 9pm local time.
