MPs in the Wolesi Jirga (Lower House of Parliament) on Saturday held elections to select deputies and secretaries.

Hamyoun Hamayoun, who was nominated for the first deputy speaker, said ARG ignores national interests. 

Nazir Ahmad Ahmadzai and Abdul Rahim Ayoubi were also nominated for the position.

Ghulam Farooq Majroh, Sayed Ali Kazimi for the second deputy and Abdulrouf Anami and Abdul Qadir Zazai were nominated for the first secretary post and Arfanullah Arfan and Semen Barakzai for the second secretary post.
