Alarm Raised Over Potential Israeli Strike on Iranian Nuclear Sites

Rafael Grossi, Director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, expressed concern about the possibility of an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear facilities.

He said that for security reasons, the agency has not allowed its inspectors to return to Iran's nuclear facilities.

In response to a question regarding the possibility of an attack on nuclear facilities in Iran, Rafael Grossi said: “Well, of course, we are always concerned about this possibility.”

Simultaneously, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army has warned that they will respond to Iran's recent attack on Israel.

Herzi Halevi, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, said: “We are considering our (next) steps and this launch of so many missiles, cruise missiles, and drones into Israeli territory will be met with a response.”

Nasser Kanani, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, says his country is not seeking to escalate regional tensions.

Nasser Kanani called the recent attack on Israel a legitimate right of Iran and added that it was in response to the Israeli attack on Tehran's consulate in Damascus.

"Iran has no intention of exacerbating regional tensions. I stress again that Iran abides by the Charter of the United Nations and the principles of international law," he said.

Iranian citizens also once again marched in Tehran, supporting their country's attack on Israel.

"It (Israel) cannot do a damn thing, and it only takes (with no action), it is us and the IRGC who talk and then act on it, but they (Israel )only talk. If they are honest they should act and do something and then they (Israel) will see that we will respond stronger," said Sana Bakhshesh, a citizen of Tehran.

The Press Secretary for the US Department of Defense, Pat Ryder, said that the United States does not want an escalation in the region.

"Whether or not Israel responds to Iran's attack, of course, is something for Israel to discuss, to discuss and to decide. As Secretary (Lloyd) Austin has said, both publicly and privately, we don't want to see escalation," Pat Ryder said.

This comes as Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, Prime Minister of Iraq, recently traveled to the United States and, during a meeting with President Joe Biden at the White House, called for restraint from all parties involved in the Middle East.
