Water in Lake Qargha Rises Bringing More Tourists

The water level in Band-e-Qargha has increased and people who live around the Qargha Lake say they are happy about the increased water level.

People said that visitors increased due to the rise in the water level at Band-e-Qargha.

It has been 12 years since Mallik Mohammad started work in Band-e-Qargha, and he said that if Band-e-Qargha has water, the number of visitors will also increase.

“I'm so happy that the water level has increased, and we pray for more rainfall to eliminate drought in our country,” said Malik Mohammad.

“It has been one month since the water increased in Band-e-Qargha, and lots of people came here and visited, and restaurants have restarted their work,” said Fazli Ahmad, a representative of the hotel management department in Band-e-Qargha.

“Qargha is the reason people come here, they all come because of water; this year, God's grace is clear, it is raining, and the water is increasing,” said Rahimiullah, a visitor.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy and Water said that this year the water level has increased by 46 percent compared with last year.

“Compared with last year, this year’s rainfall was very good and water has increased by 46 percent,” said Habib Rahman Haqpal, the area head of the Kabul River.

Various parts of the country have witnessed rainfall in recent months and, according to officials, the amount of rain has been higher compared to previous years.
