At least 38 Taliban and Daesh militants were killed in military operations carried out by Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) in various parts of the country in past 24 hours, the Interior Ministry said in a press statement on Saturday.

The ministry said the operation was conducted in Haska Mina and Bati Kot districts of Nangarhar and Garmsir district of Helmand province.

The ministry added that 23 Daesh militants and 15 Taliban fighters were killed, eight wounded and six suspects were arrested by Afghan forces during the operations.

A number of weapons and explosive devices were confiscated by Afghan soldiers in the operations, the statement said.

The statement did not mention about probable casualties of Afghan forces in the military operations.
