The Afghan National Defense and Security forces launched 23 counter-terrorism joint operations in the past 24 hours to clear some of the areas of insurgents, the Ministry of Interior (MoD) said in a statement Sunday.
The operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Kapisa, Laghman, Parwan, Logar, Ghazni, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Helmand, Nimroz, Herat, Sar-e-Pul, Faryab, Badakhshan, Baghlan and Kunduz provinces.
As a result 45 armed militants were killed and 32 others were wounded.
Also, during these operations, Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated light and heavy rounds of ammunition.
