Afghan Migrant the New Pablo Picasso In Serbia

Farhad Nouri, a10 years old from Afghanistan living in Serbia with his family, has become the new Pablo Picasso for is unique ability to draw and for his love of the famous Spanish painter.

Nouri lives in a refugee camp in Serbia with his parents two younger brothers, Associated Press reports.

“One day I will draw him too, Nouri said of Picasso.

Nouri said he learned basic drawing from his father and by watching videos on YouTube.

Nouri said he hopes his family will be able to build a new life in Switzerland and one day he will become a painter and a photographer, and will play guitar.

He is drawing portraits of German Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, the actress Angelina Jolie, and artist Salvador Dali and also the Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic.

Nouri recently met U.S. actor Mandy Patinkin, who works with refugees with the International Rescue Committee, and who has urged President Donald Trump to be more welcoming to people displaced from war-torn countries.

Nouri and his family and his family are stuck in Serbia with thousands of other migrants who hoping to reach Western Europe.

"Merkel can maybe do something to open the border," Nouri said.

Nouri and his family would like to go to Switzerland or the United States, but they have formally applied for asylum in Serbia.
