Atmar Leaves For Asian Security Conference In India

National Security Advisor, Mohammad Haneef Atmar left Kabul on Sunday for India to attend the 19th Asian Security Conference on Combating Terrorism, the Office of the National Security Advisor (NSA) said in a statement.

“Minister Atmar is the keynote speaker and will address the implications of the global war on terror and challenges it holds for Asia,” the statement said.

He will have bilateral meetings with his counterpart Dr. Ajit Kumar Doval, India’s National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister as well as other Indian security and political figures.

“It is the intention to discuss countering terrorism and expanding political and security ties between the two countries,” the NSA statement added.

The conference is expected to take place from March 6-8 in New Delhi.
