Security forces foiled a suicide bombing in Sharana city in Paktika province early Wednesday after they stopped the would-be bomber before he could detonate his explosives, local officials said.
According to the provincial police Chief Khalilullah Ziayee, a suicide bomber was stopped at about 7am local time before he could reach his target.
Ziayee said the would-be bomber is 18 years old and is a resident of Paktia province.
He said the bomber confessed during early interrogations that he received military training in Pakistan.
