Online Shopping Market Improving In Kabul

As a newly-introduced trend, the online shopping market is growing in the capital city, Kabul, as people say they have found it an easy way to purchase their favorite goods.

Arsalan Amini, owner of an online store, who sells dresses, says he started the business 18 months ago.

He said they have a website and a social media page for their online customers who are mostly families of high-ranking government officials.

Amini said they import the dresses from neighboring countries and that they are asked many questions by their customers about every product they sell online.

“Our customers are mostly high ranking officials who cannot visit our shop due to security problems,” said Amini, who runs his shop for the past 20 years but he has newly started the online store. “Dresses are also available for those customers who want to buy them from our shop without the help of online shopping website.”

Idris Adib, a salesman at the shop, said an exact address is important for them to find their customers.

“Customers’ accurate address and phone number are crucial for delivering their orders,” Adib said.

He said they receive money in cash as their customers have no access to banking services.

“The reason that we receive money from customers in cash is the lack of banking services or the ATM cards,” said Rafi Abbasi, a salesman.
