Officials at the Central Blood Bank expressed concerns over the shortage of factor 9 and 13, which are used for treating patients with hemophilia.

They call on the World Health Organization to collaborate continuously to procure factors 9 and 13.

Saifur Rahman Pashton, the head of the Central Blood Bank, told TOLOnews: "We urge all international organizations, including UNICEF and Save the Children Fund, to assist us in obtaining these factors for our patients."

Thirteen-year-old Ahmad Elias is suffering from hemophilia and has come to the Central Blood Bank with his mother from Balkh province for factor 8 injections.

Mohammad Hakim, Ahmad Elias's uncle, told TOLOnews: "He always complains of pain in his legs and hands. He also suffered a lot on the way in the vehicle and had pain."

At the same time, several other hemophilia patients complain about the shortage of factors for this disease.

Mohammad Basir, one of the patients, said: "I have had hemophilia for 16 years. I just want them to provide the factor to us on time."

Sher Mohammad, another patient, demanded: "The factor should be abundant to reduce our problems and lessen the suffering of patients and caregivers."

Doctors consider the shortage of essential body factors as one of the fundamental reasons for contracting hemophilia.

Previously, hemophilia patients have complained about the lack of medical facilities in the country, especially in provinces.
