Zar Mohammad Haqqani: Nation Governed By Women Will Not Succeed

The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs, Zar Mohammad Haqqani stated that women cannot hold positions of power in the Islamic regime, declaring it contrary to Islamic Sharia.

Zar Mohammad Haqqani, at a graduation ceremony of a religious school attended by some officials of the Islamic Emirate in Kabul, said that women's rights are protected in the country and dismissed Western claims to the contrary as baseless.

“A hadith from Sahih al-Bukhari states that a nation will not succeed if it makes a woman its leader, and puts a woman in charge as ruler. Such a nation will never be successful; see Article 33 regarding women casting votes and women giving votes," he said.

“The previous regime was deceiving in the eyes of the people, they thought an Islamic system is one where Muslims work, and in the previous system, there were those who even talked about the world and claimed it was an Islamic system,” said Shah Mohammad, advisor to the Ministry of Interior.

Additionally, some members of the Islamic Scholars Council said that religious schools have increased in the country since the rise of the Islamic Emirate and require support from the government and the people.

They emphasize that modern sciences are also essential in the country and that officials of the Islamic Emirate are attentive to this.

“I ask teachers and students to make sacrifices, Afghanistan is so behind in modern sciences, it does not have drones, and foreign aircraft patrol and cannot be brought down, this is not the work of mullahs, it is the work of scientists and educated people,” said Zahir Khan Khadem, deputy of the Islamic scholars Council.

“The Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan has ensured security, expanded schooling, and schools will expand even more under the system of the Islamic Emirate,” said Abdullah Hammad, a religious scholar.

45 individuals, including women and men, have obtained graduation certificates from the Hadith and Quran memorization course at this religious school and are expected to continue their religious studies.
