Pakistan Hands Over 4 Daesh Suspects To Kabul

Pakistan has handed over four suspected Daesh militants from the Afghanistan chapter to Kabul as a “gesture of goodwill”, Pakistan media reports.

According to the reports the militants were handed over at the Torkham border crossing.

Pakistani officials said the four suspects were Javed Khan, Safiullah, Talmeen Khan and Niamatullah, and were all from Nangarhar.

They said the Daesh suspects had been arrested in Peshawar after entering Pakistan for medical treatment after being injured in clashes with Afghan security forces.

Landi Kotal Assistant Political Agent Niaz Mohammad told reporters “Peshawar police handed over the four IS (Daesh) members to the political administration after the interrogation with them. Now we are handing them over to the Afghan government as a gesture of goodwill."

Dawn news reported that Mohammad expressed the hope that the Afghan government would try the four in accordance with their law and award them exemplary punishments.

Meanwhile, pamphlets reportedly carrying a message from Daesh have been found in the border area of Kurram Agency.

The pamphlets carrying the insignia of Daesh and pictures showing brutal actions of the group in Iraq and Syria have been found in Shalozan and other villages, Dawn news reports.

The pamphlets said that after achieving its goals in Afghanistan, the group would start activities in Pakistan's tribal areas, Hangu and Dera Ismail Khan.
