Some members of Afghanistan’s Wolesi Jirga (Lower House of Parliament) on Wednesday accused Balkh governor Atta Mohammad Noor of rebellion after he refused to step down from his post.
The lawmakers called on government to deal with him as an armed opponent.
Responding to the statement of Jamiat-e-Islami party on the ousting of Balkh governor Atta Mohammad Noor, Afzal Hadid, a close aide to Noor, and chairman of the Balkh provincial council, said on Wednesday that the statement did not convey the message that the dismissal of Noor was the "red line".
He said the statement did not convey a firm enough message to government to review its dismissal of the governor.
