TAWDE KHABARE: Civilian Toll Amid Surge in Air Raids Discussed
Human Rights Watch (HRW) on Monday raised deep concerns over the possible increase in the civilian casualties in Afghanistan amid the surge in the US air strikes on insurgents.
Patricia Gossman, a senior researcher for HRW in Afghanistan, said the reports relating the number of civilian casualties in Afghanistan is lacking transparency, adding that there is a need to investigate each one of the cases.
Meanwhile, officials of the ministry of defense have said the Afghan security forces are taking all possible measures to ensure the security and safety of the civilians during the counter-terrorism operations.
