Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maullana Fazl Ur Rehman's convoy came under attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Dera Ismail Khan on Sunday, according to Pakistani media.

The veteran politician's convoy was fired upon from multiple sides at Yarik interchange, the party's spokesperson Mufti Abrar told Geo News on Sunday.

The spokesperson added that the JUI-F chief was travelling through Dera Ismail Khan when his convoy came under attack near the toll plaza.

Earlier, the Pakistani media reported that a delegation of religious scholars, headed by Maullana Fazal Ur Rehman, is set to travel to Afghanistan on January 3.
