Afghanistan’s Cricket Board reported that the national under-19 cricket team beat the Zimbabwean cricket team and has advanced to the quarterfinals of the ICC Under 19 World Cup 2022 in the West Indies.
Suliman Safi scored 111 from 118 balls, including 14 fours and three sixes, to help Afghanistan set a 262-run target.
With this victory, Afghanistan finished second in Group C, with Pakistan in first place. Both Afghanistan and Zimbabwe had identical tournament results in
their previous two matches. Both teams had won against Papua New Guinea and had lost to Pakistan in their group matches before Saturday’s game.
