Afghanistan, Ireland To Compete For ODI Series Win

The National Cricket Team will play against Ireland today, Sunday, in the third One Day International (ODI) match in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

The team has won the first match and lost the second.

Afghanistan and Ireland will vie for the ODI series win on Sunday in what has been a closely contested set of matches.

While Afghanistan has gotten the better of the European side over the past 12 months, the contests have always held an edge as the two teams, closely matched in terms of skill and experience, jostling for the unofficial title of the Best Associate team.

Afghanistan was beat Ireland in the first match by 138 runs but Ireland made improvements in the second match and beat the Afghan side.

Ireland would be wary of the soft middle-order that might not be able to hold up the batting should both their players Porterfield and Stirling fail on Sunday, despite the bowlers being on top of their game.

Afghanistan lost a bit of intensity on the field and that spilled over into its batting in the second ODI. While its top-order was successful in getting starts, other than a 51-run partnership between Javid Ahmadi and Rahmat Shah, there wasn't much to write home about for its batsmen.

The match will start today at 3pm Kabul time. You can watch it live on LEMAR TV.
