Kunduz To Get Standard Cricket Field

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Tuesday announced that work on construction of a standard cricket ground will kick off in northern Kunduz province in the near future.

According to the ACB officials, the cricket field will be built on 16 acres of land in Kunduz city. Construction of the ground will take eight months.

Addressing a press conference in Kabul, the ACB director Nasimullah Danish said that building of standard grounds is very important for the improvement of cricket in Afghanistan.

He added that there are cricket fields with high standards in Nangarhar, Kunar, Khost, Laghman, Balkh and Paktia provinces.

"Construction work on two other cricket fields will start in Zabul province and Behsud district in Nangarhar in the near future," he said, adding that the budget for Kunduz cricket ground will be paid by the ACB.

ACB officials said that six cricket grounds will be built in a number of provinces in the upcoming year.
