A police operation is reportedly underway after reports emerged Saturday morning of a shooting at Orly Aiport in Paris.

Reports on social media indicate a shooting took place while video footage suggests that part of the airport has been evacuated.

The French National Police confirmed on Twitter that a special operation was underway and urged people not to cross the security perimeter that has been set up at the airport.

According to local media, a man tried to take a gun from a soldier. However, no details have yet been released.

Passengers on planes that have landed have said on social media that they are being prevented from disembarking.
