Zabihullah Mujahid welcomed recent remarks by the President of Uzbekistan's, and said that cooperation between regional countries is important in bringing peace and stability to Afghanistan.

Mujahid stressed that for peace and stability, strong diplomatic relations of neighboring countries with the Islamic Emirate are needed.

"The region needs to help Afghanistan with this current stability and be cooperative and prevent problems that are created or imagined. Second, they need to restore strong diplomatic relations with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan,” Mujahid told TOLOnews.

Earlier, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in the meeting of “Organization of Turkic States” called peace and stability in Afghanistan a serious need for peace in the region.

Mirziyoyev at the meeting called for Afghanistan not to be forgotten in the current situation.

“The establishment of peace and tranquility in Afghanistan, whose history and fate have been closely related to the Turkish people over thousands of years, is the main condition of ensuring strategic stability and security in our region, but in the current world, conflicts at different points have dramatically eliminated the attention of the international community,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the president of Uzbekistan

The Turkish president thinks the importance of Afghanistan’s role in the security of the region is important.

“The world continues its efforts to secure the entire continent. As a member of the world Afghanistan is also important in this regard,” said Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey.

The President of Uzbekistan also pledged the provision of humanitarian assistance through the logistics center in Termez and the continued training of Afghan citizens.

The 10th summit of the Organization of Turkish Nations was held in Astana on Friday.
