Pakistan Army Expects Afghan Interim Govt to Honor Commitments

The Pakistan Army states that Islamabad expects the Afghan interim government to honor its commitments in terms of preventing its territory from being used against Pakistan.

The Pakistan Army emphasized in a statement that Pakistan has always urged the Islamic Emirate to seriously address their concerns.

The Pakistan Army's statement reads: "Pakistan has consistently been asking Interim Afghan Government to ensure effective border management on their side of the border. Interim Afghan Government is expected to fulfill its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for perpetuating acts of terrorism against Pakistan."

However, the Islamic Emirate dismissed concerns about the use of its territory, saying they are unfounded, and pledged that it will never allow Afghan soil to be used against Pakistan, neighboring countries, or any other nations.

"The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is committed to ensuring that Afghan soil is not used against Pakistan, neighboring countries, and other nations of the world. Furthermore, the security and defense forces of the Islamic Emirate are working day and night to secure all the country's borders, and the security of the borders is assured," said Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman of the Islamic Emirate.

"Pakistan should strive to change its policy towards Afghanistan because Pakistan has never had a consistent policy towards Afghanistan. Therefore, Pakistan should try to resolve such issues through diplomatic means," said Mohammad Matin Mohammad Khai, a military analyst.

This comes as a source reported that on Saturday afternoon, clashes occurred between the forces of the Islamic Emirate and Pakistani soldiers near the Durand Line in Khost province.

According to the source, the clash was a response to the establishment of a military base by Pakistani forces.
