At least 14 Taliban insurgents were killed in a military operation in central Ghazni province on Saturday, 203 Tandar Military Corps said in a statement.

In addition, three other insurgents were injured.

"The operation is being carried out under the name of "Sultan" in Muqor and Qarabagh districts of the province and is still ongoing to clear the insurgents," according to the statement.

The statement also said that 45 other people who were in a Taliban prison were released during a military operation in Gero district of the province - this was done with the cooperation of residents in the district.

The people were imprisoned by the Taliban after being accused of cooperating with the government.

However, the statement did not provide details about casualties among security forces during the operation.
