Finland Concerned Over Tension Between NUG Leaders

The Foreign Minister of Finland, Timo Soini, in an interview with TOLOnews said the rift between the National Unity Government (NUG) leaders is a matter of concern and that the victory of Afghanistan's war is connected to unity among its state leaders and officials.

The Finnish foreign minister said political ways should be sought to end the war in Afghanistan and that the international community should act against countries that support insurgency and terrorism in Afghanistan.

"Political solution of course would be the best one, but it is not going to be easy... I sometimes hope that the people especially the leaders would understand and people are getting fed up and tired, because the ordinary people are paying the price," he said.

"The international community, the United Nations, the European Union, all the cooperation throughout the world should tackle this spat," he added.

Meanwhile, a number of MPs criticized what they called the failure of Afghan politicians over finding a solution to overcome the crisis in the country.

"We would not be in such a situation if we had experienced diplomats and politicians. The international community should be encouraged to put pressure on Pakistan in order to quit supporting insurgency," said Arif Rahmani, member of Wolesi Jirga (Lower House of Parliament).
