11 Taliban Insurgents Killed in Uruzgan Operation

At least 11 Taliban insurgents were killed in an Afghan air and ground force operation in central Uruzgan province on Wednesday, local officials said on Thursday.

In addition, five other insurgents were injured.

The operation was launched in Khas district of the province to clear the area of insurgents, said Mullah Samad, the district police chief, adding that “one policeman was also killed during the operation and two others including a military soldiers were wounded.”

However, he did not provide more details about the operation.

The Taliban have not yet commented about the operation.
